Pulpit Notes: The Currency of God’s Kingdom Is Love

Lord, we often make our boast in riches, forgetting that the currency of Your kingdom is love.

It buys not property, nor goods, nor security, and, in fact, is often exchanged at great rates for sacrifice, mercy, and compassion, giving without promise of return. As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, help us, Lord, to examine our hearts. We pray that the exceeding abundance of Christ has been treasured there. Let there be enough love for this day to see the stranger and welcome him, and to see the poor and lonely and lost and come alongside them as a friend. Let us share the prize and the bounty of Your kingdom, which cannot be stored nor kept, except that it be given as we first received. In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Soli Deo Gloria,
Conrad
