Virtual Lenten Vespers (ONLINE ONLY)
March 10 @ 7:00 pm - 7:45 pm EST
During the liturgical season of Lent, Shadyside Presbyterian Church invites you to join us each Wednesday for an evening of music and reflection. These online-only evening services include the Lord’s Supper; homilies exploring the “I AM” statements of Jesus from John’s Gospel; and music offered by the Shadyside Strings, Chatham Baroque, and vocal soloists.
The Lenten vespers live webcast begins at 7:00 p.m. Click here to access the worship video and the bulletin from the live worship webcast page of the church website.
On Wednesday, March 10, the Reverend Todd E. Leach will preach on the theme, “I Am the Gate; I Am the Good Shepherd” (John 10:1-18). Music will be offered by mezzo-soprano Loghan Bazan Wright, cellist Elisa Kohanski, and clarinetist Roi Mezare.
Note: This service will incorporate an online celebration of the Sacrament of Communion, which has been approved by both the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Session of Shadyside Presbyterian Church. In order to participate at home, please read the invitation, along with suggestions for preparation.
Lenten vespers continue on Wednesdays through March 24, 2021.
