Virtual Lenten Vespers (ONLINE ONLY)

During the liturgical season of Lent, Shadyside Presbyterian Church invites you to join us each Wednesday for an evening of music and reflection. These online-only evening services include the Lord’s Supper; homilies exploring the “I AM” statements of Jesus from John’s Gospel; and music offered by the Shadyside Strings, Chatham Baroque, and vocal soloists.

On Wednesday, March 3, the Reverend Kendra L. Buckwalter Smith will preach on the theme, “I Am the Light of the World” (John 8:12-20). Music will be offered by tenor Timothy Stoddard and Chatham Baroque.

Note: This service will incorporate an online celebration of the Sacrament of Communion, which has been approved by both the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Session of Shadyside Presbyterian Church. In order to participate at home, please read the invitation, along with suggestions for preparation.

Lenten vespers continue on Wednesdays through March 24, 2021.
