Worship occurs on-site and online on Sundays at 11:00 a.m.
On Sunday, May 28, Shadyside Presbyterian Church celebrates the Day of Pentecost. This liturgical observance remembers the gift of the Holy Spirit descending in a mighty rush of wind and flame to inspire the Church’s proclamation of Christ’s rising and to empower its mission and ministry to the world. (See Acts 2:1-13; see also Joel 2:28-32.) The notion of Easter as a season of fifty days ending at Pentecost is patterned after the ancient Jewish observance of seven weeks that culminated at the Festival of Weeks, which later came to be called Pentecost (“fiftieth day”) by Greek-speaking Jews.
As we mark the birth of the Church on Pentecost, we celebrate all birthdays at a gathering in the Parish Hall following worship. Read more about this special fellowship event and plan to join us.
If you cannot gather with us for worship in person, we hope you will gather with us in spirit by joining us remotely through our live worship webcast. Visit the live webcast page of the church website to access the worship video. Other worship documents, including the bulletin (.pdf format), also may be accessed from the live webcast page or the worship archive.
