Malawi Mission Meal
January 22 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST
Sunday, January 22, in the Parish Hall following worship

Let your imagination travel through time and across the Atlantic Ocean with Elder Susan Weber Balaan, Elder Don Coffelt, and the Reverend Austin Crenshaw Shelley as they share their experiences of Shadyside Presbyterian Church’s mission partnership with Blantyre Synod, Mulanje Mission, the H. Parker Sharp Health Clinic, Emily House, and the Soche Church of Central Africa Presbytery (our sister church). Learn how you can become a vital participant in this ministry alongside our friends and colleagues in Malawi, whose impact in their churches and villages is life-changing for so many of our neighbors there, especially those who are most vulnerable.
Join us for a congregational luncheon in the Parish Hall following worship on Sunday, January 22. Please make your luncheon reservation by signing up in the Sharp Atrium or by contacting the church office. A freewill offering will be received to offset the costs of the meal. Don’t miss this opportunity to sample nsima (a traditional Malawian dish) and kambuzi (a hot sauce made from kambuzi peppers). You also may expect to see the chitenge (traditional celebratory clothing) designed by Mayi Abusa Rose Maganga (Pastor Joseph’s wife) and to hear a bit of the abiding history and promising future of this partnership that is more than three decades in the making.
