Freedom Camp at Valley View

An event every week that begins at 12:45 pm on Tuesday, repeating until July 23, 2019
Shadyside Presbyterian Church’s Community Kids Mission Action Community (MAC) is partnering again with Valley View Presbyterian Church‘s summer Freedom Camp. The Freedom Camp is a free full-day, five-week program offered to children living in Garfield. The camp allows parents to have their children in a safe learning environment during the work day.
Shadyside has been asked to assist with the arts and crafts program for the following dates (Tuesdays): June 25, July 2, July 9, July 16, and/or July 23. The hours are 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. You may volunteer for one day or as many days as you are available. We are particularly in need of volunteers for July 9, because this date coincides with our intergenerational all-church mission trip.
Please contact Ellen Allston or Susan Thomson through the church office if you are interested in volunteering. If you go directly to Valley View (601 North Aiken Avenue), please arrive by 12:45 p.m. If you would like transportation to Valley View, please let us know; we will depart from Shadyside Presbyterian Church at 12:30 p.m.
This will be our tenth year providing crafts for this summer camp, and our lives have been truly enriched by our neighbors’ children. Please consider joining us!
