“Then and There, Here and Now” 40th Anniversary Program
Music in a Great Space proudly presents its 26th concert season, continuing with Chanticleer on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at 3:00 p.m.
Shadyside Presbyterian Church welcomes the return of “America’s a cappella pride and joy,” the ever-popular Chanticleer. As the Music in a Great Space concert series begins its second quarter-century of existence, “the world’s reigning male chorus” celebrates its own fortieth anniversary season. Founded in San Francisco in 1978, Chanticleer is known around the world as “an orchestra of voices” for the seamless blend of its twelve male voices ranging from countertenor to bass and its original interpretations of vocal literature, from Renaissance to jazz, and from gospel to venturesome new music. Praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for its “tonal luxuriance and crisply etched clarity,” the Grammy® Award-winning ensemble will grace our series with a fifth visit to our sanctuary.
Chanticleer tickets cost $35 each and may be ordered through the Shadyside Presbyterian Church office. Please make checks payable to “Shadyside Presbyterian Church” and mail to Music in a Great Space Tickets, 5121 Westminster Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15232. On the memo line of the check, please confirm the quantity of Chanticleer tickets desired. Enclose a note with the shipping address for ticket fulfillment; please include phone or email contact information in case clarification is needed. We regret that no discounts are available for Chanticleer tickets. Tickets for payments received after Friday, March 22, will be held at the “will call” table for pick-up at the door on the afternoon of the concert. (March 22 is the last date for tickets to be mailed; no tickets will be mailed the week of the performance.) All orders must be placed by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29, in order for tickets to be held at the door.
Please note: Our previous presentations of Chanticleer drew capacity crowds. Securing your tickets in advance is strongly encouraged.
