Exploring Faith and Science

Parents and grandparents of students in third through fifth grades, have you found yourself trying to answer challenging questions from your children about dinosaurs, evolution, or the Big Bang? How do these things fit into the account of Creation found in Genesis, and how do we understand these things in light of God’s role as Creator?

The Children’s Ministry of Shadyside Presbyterian Church will host a Zoom meeting for these young, inquisitive members of our church family to address their questions about science, theology, and faith. Ellen Allston will serve as moderator, posing questions to our panel, comprised of Rev. Todd Leach, Rev. Kendra Buckwalter Smith, and Wesley Smith.

Share your children’s questions with us; please let us know if your children want to participate, even if they do not have any questions to send in advance. Parents also are welcome to attend without children; this is a great opportunity to gain some ideas on how to respond to these questions in the future. The event will be recorded so we can share it with any families who are not able to attend live.
