“Take Up and Read”: Biblical Interpretation and the Christian Life
Dr. Tucker S. Ferda, Guest Speaker
You are invited to join us this fall for the Shadyside Presbyterian Church Annual Retreat. This congregational event will be a casual opportunity both to engage in spiritual formation and to experience a time of fellowship and sanctuary in a natural setting that embodies the beauty of God’s creation.
Please consider joining us for the evening of Friday, October 25, through the afternoon of Saturday, October 26, at Crestfield Camp and Conference Center, just an hour’s drive north in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. We would love for you to join your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ for a time of fun, contemplation, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
To register, please complete the registration form, and submit it along with payment to the church office in an envelope marked “Retreat” by Monday, October 7, 2019.
Who
Everyone is invited to attend this event, friends and members alike. Experiences will be geared toward all ages. Childcare is provided.
Who Else
Guest speaker Dr. Tucker S. Ferda, Visiting Assistant Professor of New Testament at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, will lead us in a weekend of spiritual growth and fellowship. Experience first-hand why one student called Dr. Ferda, “hands down, my favorite professor!” Read more about Dr. Ferda.

“Take Up and Read”: Biblical Interpretation and the Christian Life — a congregational retreat for Shadyside Presbyterian Church. There will be opportunities for campfires, walks, exploring one’s faith, and time for communing with God.

Accommodations
We will be staying in Scott Lodge, which has “hotel-style” rooms with private baths. Each room has three twin beds. Bed linens and bath towels are provided.
