Sexton

Mukendi Mukendi joined the Shadyside Presbyterian Church staff as a sexton in October 2023.

A recent arrival to Pittsburgh, Mukendi is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He grew up in a refugee camp in Zambia, where he was later appointed pastor of a large congregation. During the early years of his religious journey, he was raised as an Evangelist, but eventually found his way to Pentecostal faith. The church Mukendi currently attends has given him the opportunity to share the Word of God with the congregation. He enjoys singing and has sung in church choirs back home, as well as here in Pittsburgh.

Mukendi presently lives with his wife and two young children in McKees Rocks.
