J. Davis Creach

Seminary Intern

Davis Creach began serving with Shadyside Presbyterian Church as a Seminary Intern in September 2023, during his second year of study at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

Davis has been a member of Shadyside Presbyterian Church since September 2022 and is currently serving as a co-leader for Shadyside Presbyterian Youth Sundays (SPYS). He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rhodes College in 2022 majoring in philosophy. It was during his study of philosophy that he most clearly discerned a sense of call to ordained ministry. In September 2022, he matriculated in the Master of Divinity program at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, where he particularly enjoys the study of biblical languages and learning to be a responsible steward of the Word.

At the April 2023 meeting of Session, Davis was approved as an inquirer for ordination as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament sponsored by SPC. Elder Virginia J. Thornburgh is serving as his liaison to Session.

During his internship, Davis will rotate through the different ministry areas of our church as he works with the pastors and staff. In particular, he will continue to work closely with our Youth Ministry, and he will gain experience in preaching and in leading worship. We are grateful to have Davis in our midst and look forward to our deepening relationship with him as we walk alongside him on his path to ordination.
