Building Manager

Gerald Danhires joined the Shadyside Presbyterian Church staff as Building Manager in September 2023.

Jerry has thirty years of experience in various healthcare settings with an emphasis on mental health and addiction. His career path has included working at St. Francis Hospital, St. Margaret Hospital, and Western Psychiatric Hospital. His various roles have included direct patient care, counseling, and management of safety and security. His responsibilities included emergency response, conducting building inspections for preventative maintenance, and safety issues. Most recently, Jerry managed environmental services and was responsible for maintaining cleanliness to ensure regulatory standards in the facility. Jerry attributes his success to his customer service skills and his empathetic approach to management.

Jerry is a lifelong resident of the Pittsburgh area, having been born and raised in Bloomfield, and currently resides in South Fayette with his wife, Linda, who is a registered nurse with Allegheny Health Network. He has three daughters and enjoys spending time with his Yorkshire Terriers, Lucy and Lilly.
