Adult Christian Education

Adult Education Offerings

Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. (September through May)
*Note: No Christian education hour will occur at 9:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 5. Two identical worship services occur that morning, and children's education will be offered during both services. Read more.

On Sunday mornings, men and women of all ages, youth, and college students are invited to gather in the Hulme Room at 9:30 a.m. for a time to enjoy fellowship with others, learn about the many educational options being offered, and join in corporate prayer before separating for our various studies at 9:45 a.m.:

  • Campus Ministry "Donut Society"
College students are invited to the "Donut Society" for free donuts, coffee, and Scripture study before worship. Gather in the Hulme Room at 9:30 a.m. before moving to the Walton Library at 9:45 a.m.  (Note: Donut Society will not meet on February 22, March 8, and March 15.)
  • Faith and Families
Parents and guardians, come for some interactive work on how faith affects our families in our everyday lives. Work with your church family and learn from others' joys and concerns. Investigate the challenges and responsibilities of faith in all of our family dynamics. Gather in the Hulme Room at 9:30 a.m. before moving to the Stamy Room at 9:45 a.m. Our current study, led by Linda Leach and Grace Tan, explores the book One Thousand Gifts, by Ann Voskamp. • God's Word in the World
With God's word, He created our world. In this study, we explore how God's word is revealed to us, both through Scripture and through His creation. To accomplish this, we will draw from science, the systematic study of God's creation. While science is often placed in opposition to Christian faith, in this study we will discover how it can actually deepen our faith. Gather in the Hulme Room at 9:30 a.m. before moving to the Bethlehem Room at 9:45 a.m.
  • Men’s Bible Study
The men's group will study and discuss dimensions of the Christian faith and of the Christian life that are especially important and challenging for men in our society. This group aims to become a multigenerational community in which men of different ages, at different stages in life, can learn from one another's experiences and viewpoints. It also seeks to be a place where the men of this church can encourage one another to be all that God wants us to be and has called us to be. Gather in the Hulme Room at 9:30 a.m. before moving to the Chapel at 9:45 a.m. Our current study explores the book Strength to Love, by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Read more.
  • The Bible In Depth
This study is a comprehensive exploration of the Bible as a whole and its meanings for life today, following the Kerygma curriculum. Each theme traces related stories and events through both Testaments. This is an exciting course of study for adults (both men and women) who are ready to reflect deeply on the Scriptures, faith, and life. Gather in the Hulme Room at 9:30 a.m.; when the other groups move to their respective locations, we will remain in the Hulme Room.
