SHADYSIDE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Every member of Shadyside Presbyterian Church is a representative from our congregation, and, in effect, acts as a church missionary in a house, an office, or a dorm room. Each member extends the reach and mission of our church to next-door neighbors, colleagues, and roommates. That doesn’t mean we expect all of our members to drag their acquaintances to church. It just means our church gets to spread more light into the city as our members go about their daily lives.

Yet we know there are those whom God calls to carry the Gospel beyond the confines of their classroom, company, culture, or comfort zone. These individuals are specially prepared for the unique demands of their work, and, upon completion of their training, we commission these mission workers before sending them off to fulfill their calling. After we have sent them on their journey, we continue to support them through our prayers and encouragement.

We also commission mission workers for short-term work, such as our week-long mission trips. Occasionally these missionaries will provide updates from their work sites during their journey.
