Associate Pastor for Parish Life

Shadyside Presbyterian Church, an historic, traditional, Christ-centered congregation in Pittsburgh’s East End is actively seeking an Associate Pastor for Parish Life. This individual will provide leadership for the ministries of congregational care, new member recruitment, and community building events.

• Major responsibilities include:
• Serving as the primary pastor engaged in hospital and nursing home
  visitation.
• Conducting a vigorous ministry of new member recruitment.
• Developing strategies for the revitalization, retention, and recommitment of members.
• Assisting weekly in worship.
• Providing an annual program of Parish Life Events designed to build the spiritual community of the congregation.
• Acting as a cheerful beacon of hope in a variety of congregational care situations.

The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and organizational skills, and will excel at communication. As the leader of our church’s family life, one should emphasize enthusiasm for the Christian life, retention of existing members, recruitment of new members, and the overall enrichment of Christ’s people, his community, and his world.
