Shadyside Presbyterian Church's mission partner, Comunidad Mosaico, has extended an invitation for SPC to send a short-term construction team to the Chimalhuacan community. Our Annual Meeting and Congregational Luncheon will be held on Sunday, May 20. Members are asked to remain after worship so that we can accomplish the election of officers and handle other important business. (A quorum of at least 80 members is required.) The cost of the lunch is $10 per person; free-will donation for children 8 and under. Reservations for lunch are necessary. New Member Class

A new member orientation class will be held on Tuesday, May 29, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The session will include an overview of our tradition and faith, presented by Dr. Barnes, as well as introductions of our staff and ministries. You also will have the opportunity to meet others who are new to Shadyside Church. New members will be received during worship on Sunday, June 10.

Garfield Workday

On Saturday, June 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., we will partner with Open Hand Ministries, Garfield Community Farm, and other churches to serve and build relationships with our neighbors in Garfield. Projects can include installing windows, insulation, drywall, painting, and gardening. No experience is necessary. For more information or to sign up, contact Rev. In June, Shadyside Presbyterian Church invites you to participate in our quarterly food drive, which benefits the Food Pantry at the East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM), an organization dedicated to serving the hungry throughout Pittsburgh’s East End. Bags will be distributed in the narthex on Sundays, May 20 and 27, and a list of suggested donation items will be attached to the bag (please see below for suggestions).

The 19th annual Shadyside Presbyterian Church Strawberry Festival will be held on Friday, June 8, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Shadyside congregation will host a traditional evening of fun, games, and delicious food to celebrate the impending arrival of summer and support one of our mission partners, Sojourner House.
