This workshop gives parents concrete examples and specific suggestions for discussing intimacy with their children

This program gives parents practical ways to respond to the competition that children experience on the playing fields and in the classroom. Strategies will be presented about how to change competitive situations to cooperative events where all participants are winners.

Living Water

Jesus said, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believed in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him’” (John 7:37b-38, NIV). Are you thirsting for God’s peace in the midst of life’s daily expectations? Have you wanted to find Biblically-based responses to the stresses and conflicts around you? These classes and discussions provide quenching approaches to Christian parenting of children of all ages, faith-filled caregiving for the elderly, continuing to build Christ-centered marriages, and similar topics that will enable you to fill your cup with the living water of the Lord.

Serving Like Jesus

Seeds are such minute examples of God’s awe-inspiring creation, and yet He uses these tiny entities as testimonials for faithfulness and belief in His power. Jesus said to the disciples, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you” (Luke 17:6, NIV). Christ tells us, as he told the disciples, that such faithful and faith-filled living is not only to be evident in our own lives, but it is also to be demonstrated through ministering to others. These classes will help to develop the skills used in ministry and mission work, investigate a variety of domestic and international missions and ministries, and offer opportunities to serve the Lord through mission work.

Faith and Issues

There exist many subjects in today’s society that might leave you in a quandary as to what a Christ-ian reaction might be. Our culture is inundated with issues related to the fields of science, politics, business, art, entertainment, social ethics, and other contemporary topics that challenge a Biblical worldview. This class delves into Christ’s and the Church’s reactions to these matters. Learn to listen for the soft, quiet voice of the Lord whispering to you through the confusion surrounding you in modern society.

Foundations

Upon what theology was the Church based? The world’s reaction to Jesus’ birth, ministry, and life was foretold in Psalm 118:22-23 (NIV), “The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.” What is the history of the Church that this rejection was projected by the author of this psalm? These classes search the theological and the historical bases for the development of Christian doctrine and thought. It will offer a weekly interpretation of the Scriptures to enable participants to develop a stronger Biblical knowledge as it pertains to worldviews and the Church’s theology.
