Shadyside Presbyterian Church Nursery School Silent Auction and Bring Your Own Picnic
Saturday, 6 September from 5-7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend all or part of the Silent Auction. Proceeds will benefit the nursery school’s Scholarship Fund. Donations are needed and appreciated for the Silent Auction. Suggestions include, but are not limited to, gift certificates; tickets to sporting events, museums or movie theaters; handcrafted items. Young Adult & Graduate Student
Kick-Off BBQ! At 6:00 p.m. on Labor Day, the Young Adult & Grad. Student Ministry will kick off their fall schedule with a barbeque on the McClintock property here at

Annual Potluck Picnic Under a Tent
Sunday, 7 September immediately following worship. Great food, music, and fun for all ages. Everyone is welcome! Bring an entree, vegetable, salad or rolls to feed 12 people. Next Week

The Shadyside Choral Society Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, 9 September. Members and friends of Shadyside Presbyterian Church are invited to participate. The Choral Society seeks to provide an opportunity for all members of our community to participate in the music ministry of Shadyside Church. This fall, we will work on many anthems and carols in preparation for the Candelight Carol Service. Rehearsals are at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings. Come and give it a try!
Got a Mission? After the service on
14 September, our Mission Committee will host a mission awareness event in Parish Hall.
Shadyside’s Mission Action Communities will display the ministries supported by SPC and provide volunteer opportunities for members to encounter Christ through serving those in need.

The Ninth Annual Golf Outing to
benefit Hosanna House in Wilkinsburg will be held on Saturday, 13 September, with a 9:00 a.m. “shotgun” start at Lenape Heights Golf Club in Ford City. The cost is $70 for dinner and golf including cart; $15 for adult dinner only and $7 for a child’s dinner (10 and under); hole sponsorships are available for $100. Malawi Partnership – Our Malawian brothers and sisters will be in Pittsburgh from 19 September to 2 October 2008. The event schedule for the visit can be found at www.malawipartnership.org.
